Private banking customers will receive the SBM World Debit Card powered by Mastercard if they don’t fall under the eligibility criterion for SBM World Elite Metal Debit Card powered by Mastercard. This card is only by invitation please contact your SBM Private Relationship Director for more details.
The Debit Card is valid for a period of 5 years from the date of issue of the card.

Yes, this card is International Debit card and can be used for international transactions. Please enable the same through your internet banking or Mobile Banking. (Please note there are restrictions based on LRS)
There are no forex markup charges applied from SBM bank.
In case of loss of card, you may block the Debit card from Net banking/Mobile banking or immediately report the loss on the bank’s customer care toll-free number 1800 1033 817.
If you lost/forgotten your Debit Card you can block it temporarily using this option on Internet Banking/Mobile Banking under Manage cards.

Joint account holders will receive a physical pin, the Debit card can be activated through any ATM transaction of any bank.
A new debit card will be sent to your communication address before the expiry of the existing debit card. You may also contact your SBM Private Relationship Director or Customer Care to apply for the same.

You may change/generate your PIN by logging to your Internet Banking/Mobile Banking.
PIN generation steps,
Step 1: Login to our Internet Banking.
Step 2: Click on My cards > Debit cards > Select card > Generate PIN.
Step 3: Card number will be displayed, enter expiry date, DOB, new PIN and confirm PIN.
Step 4: Click on continue.
Step 5: Enter OTP received on your registered mobile number.
Step 6: Click on submit.
Step 7: Message will be displayed as “Your PIN has been updated successfully”.
Please contact the SBM Bank Customer Care. SBM Bank will close your existing Debit Card and send you a new Debit Card.
For security reasons, your Debit Card will be blocked if there are 3 consecutive wrong PIN attempts on the account.
Yes. You will receive SMS and e-mail alerts for all debit card transactions to your mobile number and e-mail ID registered with us. If you have not registered your mobile number and e-mail ID in your account, please update it.
In accordance with the provisions of section 206C of the Income-tax Act, 1961, all authorized dealers are required to collect Tax Collection at Source (TCS) for remittance transactions under the Liberalized Remittance Scheme (LRS). These transactions include transactions initiated through SBM Bank Debit Cards or through any other channel(s) of SBM Bank. The applicable rate of TCS will be determined basis the classification provided by Ministry of Finance and Income Tax authorities as per the purpose of transaction.
